if you search and read this thread, here is all the info you need.
k24/18g vs Garretts . k24/18g, exhaust, flash, dv's, air filter. will get you where you want safely. you will be in for about $9k or $10k.

I'm not knocking FVD, and I'm sure their product is good.

Call Kevin at UMW and get some inside scoop on what he's doing... Everytime I deal with him, I feel like I'm getting a college semester dumped into an hour long phone conversation.

Mike

exactly. he is very knowledgeable about every aspect of these cars.

Since I do not know how much the new GT2 compressor wheel flows I cannot answer that. However, I can tell you that with stock fueling it works great, but really doesn't come into it's own until you free up air and fuel for it. The compressor inlet of the GT2 is huge, 2.75 inches in diameter, and the supply tubes are 2.2 inches in diameter to match the K16/k24 inlet, so the turbo is sucking through a small straw.

I still have the stock compressor feed tubes but there is literally no noticeable lag. it pulls from low rpm and keeps pulling, but it has so much power on the top end it is scary. I have to really pay attention to not hit the rev limit at 7k, which I did last night. It sails. Mine is also Zero Clearanced so that adds efficiency to the turbo and allows even more boost. I run 1.2-1.3 bar safely on 91. Some say that is not possible or good. Tuners like Kevin and Tony know better.

in the end, the answer is that with todays hybrids you can have a 996tt that can perform as well or better than most anything from the factory. I see the amazing machines on this forum and it astounds me. It is almost impossible to find a stock 996tt on this forum

FVD, UMW it's all a comfort zone. Rhonda at FVD is an encyclopedia. In the end find a place you are comfortable with, that will stand behind their work.
