Turbo install time

I'm just curious, how long does the Porsche dealership say a turbo uninstall/reinstall job takes?

I think i'm getting the turbos switched out this week, just wanted to know how many hours they quote for.

Thanks

I don't know anyone who has used a dealer for this work... That would probably be the expensive route.

Tough call, but I would say, if you plan to keep the car, get the 24's and have the 18G wheels put in while you're doing all this...

John,
That's kind of what I was thinking. But if I'll get more performance (60-130) out of the 16g's then I kind of want to do that, then later i'll worry about getting a set of k24/18gs....

I need the best performance setup right now without having to go with 18g's just yet.

So it's like k16/16g vs. k24s - I need the fasted setup for interstate pulls.

I don't know the answer to that one...the 24's allow you to upgrade to the 18G very easily, but Seals 16G results are hard to beat. I guess, ask your tuner and decide. I would lean toward K24's, if you think you want to do the 18G's in the future. That would make it very easy and fairly inexpensive to upgrade when you are ready. I'll bet the K24's when tuned run fairly closely to the 16G's.

Me too! I just feel so flakey about which direction to go.
So close a couple of times to going with 16G's, but got spooked thinking that maybe 24/18G's and be done with it.
Spring is around the corner, and I need to get the work done now, or just soldier on as is.

With me i already drove a car with k24/18g...i can tell you its very very fast. and cant think of needing anything more. But then i havent driven a 16 g and also its a lot lesser cash. That makes the decision tougher.

Haha I know the feeling, at least $4-6k cheaper...

I think i'm getting a set of K24s tomorrow along with a 5 bar FPR, and FVD's K24 file - a guy on here dyno'd 524awhp on FVD's 93 octane K24 file.

I'm also having them send me a race gas file. I decided to go this route since I already have FVD software so it's free, I just need the turbos.

My mech. is planning to pull off the K16s this week.

That way in a few months if I want, I can pull them off upgrade to 18gs

We'll see, I think this setup is going to be surprisingly quick, no doubt.
