Hong Kong?
Hong Kong?
I know there are a few members here from Hong Kong. I am traveling there for business from the Feb, 16th to the 26th. I am trying to figure out what to do during my free time any suggestions? This will be my 2nd time coming to HK. I can speak a little Cantonese but cant read any Chinese. I would love to see more things form a local point of view instead of going the tourist route. Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

Hey cool! I like HK...
It's now some years ago since I was there (for a few month)........
Try to go to the knutfords terrace (Tsim Sha Tsui), It's a small street with one pub / restaurant on another...
If you have enough time, try the Hong Kong Walks, published on
http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/...ong-walks.html
there are nice, you can see a lot, but you're on your own...
or visit some nice places: http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/...s/culture.html
If you're lucky there are some annual events in the time of your visit:

Another thing is, the entry into museums is for free, as example on these at the avenue of stars...
Do you already have an octo card? It's a badge you can buy on the bigger train/subway stations. You'll charge it with money, you can use it for paying the public transportation and in some shops (like 7eleven), in the end you can give the card back and you get a refund....
Have fun, greets

Suggestions?! Be careful at the tables. I lived in HK for 5 years back in the 90s. The first time I went to Macau was for a business trip. Stopped by the blackjack tables after my meetings. Dropped $6K before dinner. Very expensive business trip!

If it's your first time in HK, do the standard touristy things ... view of the harbor from Victoria Peak at night is nice. High tea at Peninsula hotel or Repulse Bay hotel (I prefer Repulse Bay). Star Ferry. Try Lan Kwai Fong and Wanchai for night life.
Appreciate all the suggestions, thanks a lot. I hope to see some amazing cars. This is actually my 3rd time going to Hk. Previous times had been strict truncated time table. This time I would like to see the finer things other than the regular tourist places.
Thanks!
Thanks!
If you want to see amazing cars, the HK super car club has a regular sunday morning drive into the new territories (usually a place called Luk Keng). Many many exotics and is definitely worth a trip.
Super car club huh? That sounds amazing. I just touched down in Tokyo. Wouldn't it be weird to just show up? Is this meeting place a public place? I would love to see the super cars of hong kong but I don't want to impose. Again I appreciate all the suggestions def going to Macau.
