...And now for the rest...
Tom Harris, adopted son that he has become, came over with his faithful sidekick, Cletus (My nickname for him) and gave me a hand with some of the work being done to the Type3, then we got down to the business of trying to start the car... We screwed around with the Dizzy, made lots of noise with the carb popping back, got the bright idea to check the firing order, called Pete p. because it's been so long since I have had to know it that I forgot it (Of course Pete knew it) and then after going 180 out on the dizzy, VRRRRROOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!
GIVE ME FUEL
GIVE ME FIRE
GIVE ME THAT
WHICH I DESIRE...
With straight shorty headers that mother is loud...
We have a leak oin the timing cover, or the bottom seal on the pan, one or the other, and I have an issue, yet again with the Tilton release bearing losing all its fluid, but other than that, I'm pretty stoked.
I have to get a windshield, get the exhaust welded in, get a battery, weld in some tabs for the DZUES fasteners, and do some more little bits and pieces, but I'm real F'n close to driving this car at a track near me...

Larry, The goal is to get it to the spring Shenandoah event with PCA (If they will allow me to). I have a lot more work to do, but much of it is "small projects" that can be knocked out an hour here, and an hour there!
Thanks Sean!
Blackhorse, The beauty of this old classic is the rather large engine bay. You can go over to HybridZ.org and check out some of the neat projects that have been created by members there. Everything from mild to wild, with both Turbo and non-turbo powerplant swaps. A very common transplant is the 280ZX Turbo motor/wiring harness/ Computer into the older Datsun Chassis. It's a direct swap and an easy way to get an additional 50-70HP. Or you can go the V8 Chevy swap. This particular motor is a roller 383 stroker and the buildsheet "claims" 530HP and about 500#ft. of torque. The car should be SUB-2300# without me in it.
