Has anybody switched to the C4S lip?

I'm running a fixed techart "whale tail" type spoiler. I did it for looks more than anything. Am I looking at big problems switching the lip out...

My car is kind of a hybrid. Supercharged C2. Lowered on PSS9's. Techart fixed tail. Turbo nose. Turbo look rear bumper. And factory side skirts.

Am I really going to notice anything by switching the lips around since my car is so mismatched anyway?

My turbo came with a c4s lip for the same reason (previous owner was tired of scraping and destroying the oem turbo lip). I removed it in favor of the Aero kit lip when I got the car. I much prefer the look and have been driving lowered cars for a long time so I ditched the c4s lip. It's then when I noticed the c4s one had been damaged a bit as well lol (on one of the sides where it's lower). It's not a bad look though, IMO; definitely more practical for street driving.

SallyTT is infamous around these parts
Newbie question, are you guys painting the lips, both the c4s and the turbo lip, or just the aftermarket ones. I too need one but don't want to tear it up. I suppose the CF ones are just as east to damage?

Since that was my car pic way back at the begin of the thread ......my 2 cents....as you can see that lip is painted (with holes filled).....but that car has more than that painted over .
If you have a dark color car, I guess I wouldn't bother painting.
On the aero impact......the car pictured is very stable at 160....whatever.

How a car handles at speed is the product of many factors.

Mine's been safely tested to steady state speeds of 140MPH, even with my GT2 rear wing! And no, I was NOT on a recent episode of cops!

I'd rather loose top end speed in my world to get great stability.

stick with the Turbo stock lip. Once you get used to taking driveways at angles, you'll be fine

My car is a bit low and I use it for street cruising, canyons, track, etc... The first thing I did was switch to a C4S front lip and had it painted silver to match the car... It clears a lot better than the turbo lip but mine still takes damage occasionally... It usually holds the paint and I just retouch the lower lip when I hit it badly. Recently, I nailed it pretty good in an alley and now I'm going to repaint it and the front bumper (rock chips bothering me). I figure the lip and front bumper will last a solid year between repaintings... It all depends on where/how you drive and how low your car is. I can't comment on the aero factor but I am running a GT2 add on spoiler for reference...

As commented above, there are lots of variables that come into play when you are talking about high speed stability. Aero work is definitely a big one but it's not the sole variable! A sorted suspension should help, not to mention a lowered car with a slight rake (I'm corner balanced after a RWD conversion).

I've had it for years now... Either I suck or it's just not workable

Very good points... I believe the proper suspension setup goes a long way towards helping ith some of these aero add-ons. However, once you get into the 150mph+ range, things change and all betts are off... I was at VIR doing in excess on 170MPH on their long backstretch and got a bad high crosswind that caused the car to change lanes. HUGE eye opener! That was with the Aerolip and the GT2 wing.
