Sorry ....not KW's, but when I installed my JIC's, mine was horrible. Rear was bouncy as hell.

Turned out to be a set up/ adjustment problem with the springs. Springs were too loose in the perchs.

Got it dialed in and they are great.

Porschearound,
I'm Not sure about KWs but i think that if your dampers are set to soft the springs are free to float =Bouncy. Try stiffer settings to damp down that motion. I have JIC's GT2- specs and I found that to work for me.

I woulod recommend you start them out at full stiff in the rear and maybe 3/4 stiff up front and start from there dialing them softer one click at a time. If you notice the front showing to be to bouncy, stiffen it up. Try that and report back...

My PSS9s do make a little bit of noise with the endlinks on the swaybars mainly... But that's just on speedbumps, and at steep transitions into or out of parking lots.

Mike, were your bumpstops removed from PSS9s? SMR wasn't bashing Turbo's, I myself had a turbo 996 and 993 and when going too low with PSS9 or H+R you would get nasty bounce and rebound :/

There was a huge big thread on this from back in the day as you know of!

never had any problems with my H&R being bouncy and it was set pretty low.
if anything it was pretty compliant on the street and decent on the track.

This has been labored over and again. I'm aware of that long thread long ago that is even linked here. Bottom line is it isn't an all inclusive "PSS9s" issue.

Martin, Back last spring you had the chance to be on the track with me. Did I look like I was having any bounce? I've touched nothing related to the springs/struts/rideheight since then, and I was logging laps fast enough to keep up with everyone and pass most in our group, even with a severely slipping clutch.

I let Boochoock drive my car today. PM him and ask if it was bouncy when I took him thru some extremely bumpy and curvy back roads by my house at well above the legal limit...

yeah, imo that whole bump stop hype was a bump STEER issue not bump stop.

Mike you were the exception I mentioned, your car runs great indeed, you are also a great driver to boot Question though, have you tried any other suspension setups? You might be shocked at the difference as I was on my turbo, but I guess it's not a concern since your car drives well enough to not be curious for the change!

Oak bud, I am very well aware of "bump stop" and "bump steer".. Over bumps in a straight line the car would bottom out on the shock/stopper, it would basically be a stiff bounce with no dampening, actually hard to explain without feeling it first hand.

hey mike, I wasn't referring to your set up. I was ref kpg did that whole write up about how unstable his set up was when going through a turn and he did the whole article on PSS9's being on the bump stops. imo, he was experiencing a bump steer issue causing the instability he was experiencing.

Remember that whole deal? Pss9's got a bad rap for that article.

Oak, Yup I remember it well. And I agree with you. I think it was WAY overblown and confused with BUMP STEER. I spent a lot of time, money, and education trying to get a handle on "SUSPENSION THEORY and Engineering" when I was fabricating suspension parts for another platform. Although I'm far from "expert", I have a fairly solid handle on the basics, and your comments are spot on.

Martin, it's really "this simple"... The car is far more capable than I had a chance to show it. I'm VERY confident that had I been able to spend another year tracking this car, I'd have been able to get it WAY down into the 2:0Xs... The last time at VIR I ran a very low 2:10:24 on my first Warm up session of the very first day. That time was FAR better than any other time I've run there, and other than Dez, Drew, and Matt Callahan, I'm not sure of another GT2/TT that has run those times.

It has far more to do with how the given components are set up and adjusted, than it has to do with the components themselves... The "SUM" of the parts is far greater than the parts individually. I've been given so much grief over my PSS9s, yet with my given setup, I've got GREAT handling on or off the track, and I've ridden in two Moton equipped TTs and one Jic equipped car... I'm still using my PSS9s because... THEY WORK.

Mike you are confused, I am not attacking your setup, PSS9's, or anything was just a simple question lol... I know and I am sure they work very well for you and your car, I had a different experience, that could have been due to several other factors though, and your good experience due to others as well, who really knows.

All I am saying is that with my PSS9's and H+R's when set low (gt2 ride height or a little under) they weren't good for ME. Hell I am having a ***** of a time with my Moton's right now dialing them in, they aren't perfect by any means either, maybe i'm just too ****/picky, who knows because to most they would be above sufficient...

My car also is in another world above my capability, I clicked a 2:08 and consistent 2:10-12's with traffic, Matt did a 2 flat, that makes me feel like shlt hahah jk!
