I followed big ben idea, and I floored my car with the annoying ticking.. now it wont start. It went loud and the clicking went to a loud click to a deep throbbing sound.. thought it went away.. engine turned off and I pulled over. The engine would not turn over. Tried over and over again. Just put a new interstate battery in, so for sure there would be enough cranking power. Had to tow it to a shop. So looks like ill be shopping for new lifters soon. Gonna drop the engine to get to it I suppose.
