I've searched and removed most of it, but I'm stuck on one part!

All the clips from the shifter to the back are removed. It's loose on either ends, but It seems like something's holding it in place around the handbrake.

Anyone know of a DIY on the forums? I've searched

I bet it was the screw hiding under the coin tray...

It's all out now--It's kind of annoying that the a/c controls and dvd drive have to be moved to pull the console out

 

you don't have to remove those, just unclip the batwing and you are able to pull the center console. I did it for my short shifter install and didn't need to remove those.

in the link, they do remove it because it is a tutorial to eliminate the lower portion of the console, not something you have to do just to remove the center console.

 

I removed the batwing and then tried, but because of the handbrake I wasn't able to pull it far back enough or up. It was only 4 extra screws anyways

You can do it with just the batwing removed but it takes a lot of finesse. And that stupid screw(s) under the coin tray/ash tray got me too.

 

Just finished reinstalling my center console after painting it dark grey--What a difference!

Also changed the handbrake from wood to a black leather one!
