1/4 mile question
Might do it stock, if you're a good driver, but definitely a flash should do it. I think they went 12.4 stock? A flash typically adds 60-80whp.
Tip or 6speed makes no difference. If you have a cab, that's a problem... other 250 lbs + bad aero.
Exactly, what you may or may not lose on the big end, you more than make up for in the first 60ft!!! Try power braking at different RPM's and stomp on it!!!
thanks for posting !
Huh? Hold the brake til about 2.2-2.5K RPM. Then launch it.

I know people that had done the power launching over and over on big hp TT and the Tip tranny held up.
Back to your original question, I think you can go 12 or below with a good flash, DV, exhaust, and a good set of tires.

TBH though, if you're so worried about breaking your car, maybe the 1/4 mile isn't for you. You need to cut a sub 2.0sec 60' time with those mods to go sub-12, and without powerbraking, it will be VERY difficult to do.

Kinda what I was gonna say...
i have same veh. and the poower braking really works, i have many mods. But to launch the car right you need to power brake. Major difference, and if im not mistaken the tip will tend to shift better then the 6 speed, (i think) anyways dont let the power braking scare you, the car is made for certain things and as long as your not at the track every day for 8 hours at a time you should be fine.
