dreamtripper is infamous around these parts
The baseline on the graph (which I assume is pump gas) shows 503 hp

There are some guys here who recently switched from GIAC to a really good tune like Protomotive and said the car felt a lot better. Come to think of it, are any of the fast cars running GIAC? Seems like it's rather generic from what I've gathered.

AWE are GIAC dealers and use their software exclusively. We only get 91 octane in CA.

Our software calibrations are anything but generic as we have quite a few different variations of files for different hardware on these cars. What we do see sometimes are cars that have an improper match between a particular hardware combination and software calibration, such as Paneraiwatches’ X50. The file that Panerai was running was quite aggressive and had been maximized for a car running basic bolt on parts with factory waste gates. With the 1 bar waste gates he installed, the car was over boosting quite a bit to the point that the throttle was closing as a safety measure. I have attached a dyno sheet of the latest 91 octane custom tune that we did for his X50 versus how it was before. You can see how dramatic the difference is with a proper calibration for his hardware. Both runs were done on straight 91 octane with NO meth injection. His car is currently within a safe injector duty cycle level but, if we were to go higher, he would need more octane or upgraded fueling (on straight K24s!) We have actually switched over a few cars in recent times to our software and picked up horsepower (same dyno/day comparison). One of the customers was actually told he was given GIAC software, however, we had no record of his VIN. As you can see from the attached dyno graphs, actually having GIAC software over the generic brand that he had was a great improvement. I would encourage any of you that are considering hardware upgrades beyond just exhaust, intake or intercooler setups to contact myself, Andrew or anyone from the GIAC dealer network on compatibility with our K16/K24 flashes and also regarding custom tuning for special hardware as it is offered. We have a large dealer network that we work very closely with and can complete custom calibrations for those that request it in many parts of the world.

To this day, we still have among the strongest trap speeds in K16, K24 and GT powered cars. I believe the results have and will continue to speak for themselves.

Panerai's Dyno

Ugh! It is so aggravating when you are trying to tune or diagnose someone's car and they either fail to tell you all the hardware on the car, or change something and don't tell you. Now you are chasing your tail for weeks trying to figure it out.

That is probably my biggest pet peeve about this biz.

CONSULT YOUR TUNER BEFORE YOU ADD OR CHANGE PARTS!

Great post, Austin.

Great post, Austin.
It happens sometimes when you do not get full disclosure, however, that was not the case with this customer. He told us what he had on his car and what his expectations were with the file. We simply strived to make that happen for him.

As the platform ages and more hardware becomes available, we will likely continue to make new files as it is beneficial for us to make sure the files continue to work well with is what current on the market.
