New Turbo Owner -- CEL Light
Special jumper to activate hood release
Porsche engineered a special jump point in the fuse box - you hook up a battery to power just the latching mechanism - I guess there are a lot of dummies out there like me....
ben,
Before you pay $100-200 for the dealership for just the diagnosis, you should think about getting the durametric cable
http://www.durametric.com/
Or if you don't like reading codes, get the Brockway R1000

Just something to think about

Took the car to Autozone to have it diagnosed. It appears to be an EGR issue. Is it safe to drive this car with an EGR code, or does it need to be parked until I have the time to get it fixed?
Thanks,
Ben

Without a code reader, is there any way to test this gas cap theory WITHOUT disconnecting the battery? I'd really rather not have to program 18 radio stations, and all my custom satnav settings again.
I only ask because I also recently got a CEL, right after I filled up with fuel too. Just a few days ago.
What about just tightening up the gas cap. Will the CEL clear itself after a few restarts or something? Does it really need to be cleared by someone with a code reader?

How'd you get it open?
