Which Rims and paint job

I have a 2001 twin turbo 996 with Stock Rims. I dont know which 19" rims to get and what size lip. I would love to get some 5" lips in the back but am concerned about performance. Should I even worry about it. HRE's, Avus, Keneisis???

One other thing. I want to color sand the car because its black and its got some scratches.. anybody out there with experience on how to restore it to as close to new without a whole new paint job?

Check with Lucent Motors. He has a detailer that can take care of the scratches and color sand.

I have an EXCELLENT guy that will wetsand it for you. There is another thread w/ him wetsanding a S500. The guy does UNREAL work. I know a lot of detailers in the area and there is no one I would even BEGIN to trust w/ such a job other then this guy. Here is his website.

here is the s500

There are many detailers out there good w/ a rotary that can remove swirls, but there are very few who can be trusted to wetsand. It won't be cheap, but it's better to have a guy proven to be able to do the job.

Those are minimums. Be sure you are dealing with a reputable, long-termer. There are a few "kids" who think they can do this. I suggest the more gray hairs the better. Find someone who's been around this stuff for many years, get references and go see his work. See him do the work too. If he won't let you see it, walk.

A good job like this can easily run $1000 or more, but much depends on the depth of the problem. An aging surface full of problems will take a lot more work, expect to pay more for that.

When it's done right, it's as if the car was repainted, straight out of the factory. Amazing.
