will my new rims fit inside 996 for transport?

Go to pick up my new forged wheels 8.5 x 18, and 11.5 x 18... anyone know if theses will fit inside the 996?

Just rims, no rubber. (Of course I'd unbox them and then wrap them in blankets.)

Its a 4 hour round trip -- so I'd rather take the 911 than the Audi wagon... but don't want to be stuck!

Appreciate anyone's experience... thanks.

I'd be surprised. I had tires mounted on mine, but just looking at them I can't see how they would have fit, even minus rubber.

I think so Duane, the two 11.5" on each rear seat, and one on the front set and the other on the floor...no worries. Gimme a call when you get a sec.

I am heading down to Oroville next week to pick up my car...yeah baby!!!!!

Cheers,

Ben

Yep, I've done it, with rubber. Just like Ben said. The rear tires - one in each rear seat. The front tires - both on the passenger seat all the way forward so the dash holds them in place. Towels for cushioning.

Yep - rims fit inside a 996!

I picked up my new TR Motorsports wheels and carefully put them all inside the 911: each wrapped in a blanket, then the rears (18x11.5 wheels) on the rear seats; one front 18x8.5" in between them positioned vertically (strapped in with seat belt); and one on the front passenger seat.

No problem.

But it took half an hour...

And I can probably apply for the contortionist job at the Cirque de Soleil.
