After my first road event 2 weeks ago, I noticed a sound coming from the tranny/engine area. So I decided to have Steve Ott pull my torque converter and get it upgraded. Today, Steve dropped my engine and tranny and pulled the TC to send to EVOMS. Also, it turns out my tranny mount was completely gutted. See the first pic of the tranny mount. Should be back up in about a week or so.

 

That tranny mount is impressive!! I think 192 mph at the mile was worth it though.

 

It was worth it. This thing is really going to fly now that it will handle the power. Am I going to see you in October at the Mile?

 

Do you think the mount was the source of the noise? Anything else seem to have failed? New torque converter is rebuilt, or exchange, or different type of unit? Good luck with the upgrade.

 

nothing unusual regarding mount... I have gone through 2 of them... the rubber loses it's strength/elasticity over time

 

I bet that's what the noise is. Evoms is rebuildng my TC. I sent it to them yesterday. Thanks, I'll post my results.

Sorry to hear about your TC. Now that you're having it rebuilt what sort of power are they telling you it will hold? BTW, great job at the Texas Mile. 192 mph is moving for the mile.

 

Thanks man. Evo says it's good for 1000hp. The question is how much the tranny will hold now. I'm going to find out.

whats the cost to upgrade the converter? turn around time?

 

4200.00. But they will give you 2500 back for your TC if you send it to them. 1 week turn around.
