I think we're just used to standing up for our old cars...it's like a reflex instinct, particularly on the internet. Having a 996TT definitely makes you realize that there are some incredibly well engineered cars coming from other parts of the world though.

Oh for sure - the 996 has a way better engineered cabin, much nicer controls, has less weight, is AWD, and is bigger displacement. Lots of pluses going for it. But from what I have been able to read here tyo have to dive into the guts pretty early on - a shame. But really how much power do you NEED on the street? 600HP at the wheels will keep me happy awhile. Then Titan and Justin can find out at what level they really blow for us The nice thing is that it seems that many of the shops that did decent parts for the Supra are realizing that the 996 is a good place to go. Turbos, engine management, who knows what else will be coming. I mean 3K for a pair of mufflers?! I had a 4inch exhaust stem to stern on my Supra for half that. A breakthrough would be a softeware package to allow reflashing to sneak out to the public - then I think we'd be having real fun.

Anyway, it loks like the MAF maxes out early (tuners work around this somehow), the intake piping is convoluted and sux, the intercoolers not bad but poor end tanks, and the ignition system not too shabby. All the aftermarket exhausts apparently drone (lol) but I cannot helkp but wonder if a crossover in mine might help it... Looking forward to learning more when I get more stick time. Oh and getting rid of the danged spoiler failure light from my GT decklid - grrr. So many nannies, so little time!

Good luck with the car and the build bro. They are much different than Supra's, although I like both cars.

You can buy the proper pigtail to do away with that error code... And I can turn that light off for you if we ever cross paths... I have the scanner/data logger for it...

And Once you have a few more sips of that fine German beer, you'll forget all about that Japanese sake. Trust me...
