Np problem. Shouldn't be too difficult. A few months ago, i used those steps to help a buddy of mine swap steering wheels over the phone.

Good luck with it

I just thought of something. If the steering wheel has to be off the car for 5 days because it's being shipped to Dallas to be recovered, and the battery is disconnected for that long, will the idiot lights go off by themselves or will I have to have it hooked up to a pro OBD reader to clear everything?

if you leave the battery disconnected for the 5 days you should be fine...just reconnect it when your wheel comes back....

You will have to reset the code. I swap my steering wheels all the time and always get a code.

Do you keep the battery disconnected while you do it?

I've swapped mine several times and have never gotten a code...

Dallas Custom Steering Wheel is going to do mine. Charcoal Alcantara with a light grey band and 1/8" padding.

Doktordyper, Los Gatos is a nice place. I used to work there occasionally while living in California. I miss the west coast everyday.

good stuff. how much is he charging? the guy I was looking at:

http://www.aglausa.com/p/home.html

charged $300 - $400 for the alcantara w/ 1/8" padding. at the time, they had one ready to go, so no waiting. you just send in your core.

yes, Los Gatos is awesome. I live in the hills above town on 4 acres, view of Santa Cruz & ocean.

Same price range for mine.

You're living the good life. When my family obligations are finished here, I'm either coming back to Cali or going to Hawaii. I've got to see palm trees or I'm not living it to the hilt.
