Steering Pump Whine?

I am having a problem with the hydraulic pump that sits near the oil fill spout. When I push my car really hard on the track, I get a real loud whine noise (like a bad bearing) very high pitch, and then it goes away when the car rests for a minute. It doesn't do it all the time but it is worrying me. Any thoughts? Should I just tell the dealer to replace it?

Low steering pump fluid. Just needs a little bit.

I had the same thing. Topping off the fluid level took care of it.

Thanks guys, I checked the level and it was fine. I wonder if hard cornering (race track, not street) is starving the system (sloshing)or getting air in it. Hmm. I will try to top it off before my next event and see if that solves it.
