For those of us that are single...for one reason or another....would the same poll apply to the accountant?????

 

Are you kidding me? Of course it's all routine maintenance. These damn cars are expensive to keep up and maintain.

Turbos, injectors, air filters, MAFs, exhaust, clutch, flywheel, shocks, springs... even the damn rims needed upgrading after one pothole.. everything seems to break on this damn car... I regret ever buying it...

 

My wife does not ask what the costs are. I offer them up gladly on occasion when I get a really good deal, or the subject does not come up. She really does not care. I cannot remember her asking, or me telling her what I paid for the car to start with. I probably told her though, we have no secrets, it was a VERY Large Number by our normal car aquisition standards.

I do remember when I was debating about getting one, then searching high and lo for that perfect car, her telling me to stop vascillating about buying the thing and to simply "s$%t" or get off the pot!

I am pretty lucky that way. And I must say, she hardly spends anything unless it is for the house. She is not a clothes hog or Jewelry horder. But hey we are in our 50's.

For the record we are not rich, do not have more money than sense, average middle class folks, simply live within our means, have absolutely NO DEBT AT ALL, and make (in general) good buying decisions. (Even though I probably paid $7k more for my TT because is only had 5k miles on it. If I am going to buy the best.. Then I suppose need to pay for it)

+ $200 vs $1900 for some hi flo German Cats (and a CUSTOM BUILT Hi flo SS Exhaust to match them that we are currently building for around $650 or so) I think I do OK.

I have a totally different problem. I had a girl friend that I was with for 7 years, she didnt mind me modding for the most part. I thought this was great she knew EVERYTHING and I was laughing at my buddy who had to always hide the truth from his wife. Everything was great until it came time to get engaged. The $12k ring I bought her wasnt good enough, she wanted a $25k ring..thats when all the info I gave here came flying back at me. She was like,"how can you spend nearly $70k for a car but you cant even buy me a 25K ring." I kicked her to the curb right after that conversation.

So you dont have to be married to run into problems disclosing your expenses to a women.

Single and lovin it. All the GF can do it shake her head and ask me why I need to go so fast.

haha, oh man. this thread is a perfect example of why i never want to get married!

 

Yeah, my wife busts my ballz on a $50 item. I have to beg and convince her to let me do anything. But, she is very frugal and we dont have many bills, so it works out. I got some tax money back this year and am setting some aside! Otherwise, I have to do month of begging. Took me about 2 years just to get the green light on the car! At least prices went down!

 

I hope it was worth putting that ring on.

 

I think so... She is hot, 8 years younger, smart and let's say, "energetic"!

I usually get my way, just have to go through the procurement process!

 

A man shouldn't ever have to "Beg" a woman. I shed a tear when i read your story above man...

 

All part of the man/woman relationship. At least I don't have to beg in other areas!
