I think the difference in k24/18g is more evident only on the top end. In fact below 5000 rpms the 16g feels faster beacause of massive TQ.

Yes,I have driven cars with all 3 different setup with upgraded fueling,k16/16G is a good bargain if you want to see more power on top-end compare to K16 chipped ,but k24/18G is just another level ,I would do K24/18G if money is no object.

While it won't tell you how each car "feels", you can look at the 60-130 leader board to get a sense of the relative acceleration of each car:
Fastest flashed K16 car - TXGold - 7.92
Fastest K16/16g car - Me - 7.01
Fastest K24/18g car w/out upgraded injectors - Adam Bowles - 6.6
Fastest K24/18g car - Chris Green - 6.08

Am I correct that the X50 package is the K24/16 set up? (+ other stuff)

Having that set up already what does one do if quickness is desired over top end?
I suspect it would be nonsensical to change that set up to a k16/16 (lower) - correct?

Is there a fundemantal difference between type of turbo set up performance results for tiptronic versus manual?

X50 has K24 Turbos , there is no k24/16.

This is how i would rate different levels of power increments lowest to highest HP.
k16 Turbos (Non x50)
K24 (X50)
k24 Flash
k16/16G Hybrid turbos
K24/18G Hybrid Turbos
Garrett Turbos

The best way for you to make more power since your have X50 (k24 turbos) is K24/18g hybrid turbos. You send your turbo out for conversion and then you can pick up>150 HP.

We just went this route Flash (EPL) to 16/16g hybrids (EPL). We also upgraded the clutch at the same time. The car is definitely faster, but the biggest thing is how boost builds instantly. My wife loves it, which is important because it's her car! I pushed for the 24/18 setup, but was worried about putting in a clutch that she wouldn't like. Finally decided to play it safe and went with the more conservative route. Bottom line is that she's happy... which makes me happy!

Glad to hear she's enjoying the new power!
