Oil Analysis Back....sample from after Water/Meth install

Hey guys.....I just got my oil analysis back and everything looks perfect. I put this oil in when I did the water/meth and EPL custom tune a few months back and it came out when I installed the EPL / Tial 3071s. So the oil in this sample was with water/meth ON and includes 2 track days.

I'm quite pleased with the results....see for yourself:

ikold is infamous around these parts
Had you established a baseline for that engine with Blackstone? That is where your engine can really tell the story.

I know for my airplane they say they would like to see three samples so they can track the trend.

Overall though looks like Porsche engines hold up well to lots of HP.

This was my 1st sample with the 996 so we can only compare to universal averages compared to previous samples....I send samples every oil change for my S4 and plan to do the same with this car. I will certainly share my data as I have it.

What amazes me is these automobile engines are built better, are more efficient, and generate more horsepower than aircraft engines costing twice as much.

Do you have any photo's of your meth install? How big is the tank and how long does it last. Where do you go to get methanol?

Have fun reading everything posted after page 5 or so. Many people on this forum unfortunately believe that meth will cause massive corrosion (completely false).

I think this oil sample is a HUGE win in completely debunking the idea that corrosion is even possible...

Wait a second, I thought meth "destroys pistons, eats away cylinder heads, fouls spark plugs" I think some $20,000 intercoolers are a much better option for keeping the IAT's down

Thanks for sharing the sample data.

actually, $20K is just the starting number if you're going to start trying to do 500+ WHP with the 996 platform. anyone who doesn't think that a 996 turbo isn't just simply the right to spend money on mods hasn't owned theirs long enough. LOL! face it, when tires are $1.5K and another front bumper is $4K then you have to wonder where the $20K comes in.... and that's after the brakes plus an exhaust plus a PSS9 suspension. this is before things break. drive it hard, spend the money, have fun, don't complain about the "possibility" of maintenance.

One thing meth most certainly does NOT do is foul plugs! More like steam cleans them! It's pretty tolerant of mixtures too, can run pretty rich.

What kind of engine do you have in the plane? TSIO? IO? Looking for something down the road that I can do about 150 in and haul the family.

I don't think it is so much as "many people" but instead a few.
