Don,

That sounds pretty simple, thanks.

What is the size of the smaller tank you mentioned?

Good to hear John. I am sure your car has some low 6's in her. Sorry Don, we will stop this discussion now. 4-6 hours of installation is not bad at all, damn that is quick.

Hi guys,

Im new to posting on this site, but not new to reading on it. Alost of you probably already know me from other forums, or just as a tuner/builder. With that said let me cut to the chase.

You would NOT want to spray a high methanol concentration on top of 109 octane race fuel. This is a BAD idea.

Why?

Well here is a fast crash course in Methanol injection for you.

What does methanol/water do? Well it aids in cooling the charge/combustion temps. This is a great thing all around. Plus Methanol will keep the inside of your cylinders looking practically spotless. A little weird looking at first until your used to it.

The next and most important thing that Methanol does is ADD roughly 20-25 points of octane to your combustion mix. (dependent on water/meth values) So running it with say 94 octane is ideal. Your final octane rating would be around 110 to 115 octane. Great right? So why not add more octane and really get crazy?

Simple: Too much octane is a BAD thing. What high octane does is effectively SLOW the flame front. Slow it too much and you will have fire coming out of valves in ways that are not pretty. So adding Methanol to high octane race gas will do some bad things. Ive seen it more then once and isnt pretty.

Im on the run but that at least gives you a sense of it. Hope that helps clear up some questions.

Thanks

Ben Phillips
