I can't say I'd even bother with all the stuff Chad is doing, but as long as it make him happy I could care less if he wanted to **** fire on his money. His off-handed jabs got old a real long time ago, but he's not outside the boundaries of the site guidelines.

Whipple is already working on a supercharger upgrade. There will be plenty of upgrades available for the GT40. It's a modular ford v8

cause he can and will want to, no one can deny it running or not it's a platform most would dream of.

I think he deserves a lot of credit for going in uncharted waters. The path he is taking isnt the most economical or easiest but a great deal of knowledge will be gained. It's relatively easy to slap on an "EVO 700" kit or whatever but opening up the internals is a different step all together. The knowledge will open the door for many other 996TT owners down the road to follow his path. On the flip side if he talks big and produces nothing he better be ready to recieve some **** talk in return.

couldn't agree more. It's been a blast watching the build up over the last few years

I don't think he's really had any reliability issues, They did let a motor go but they were fully aware they were running on thin ice and testing the limit's of the motor. (plus they had a spare motor built)
As far as not running, I think he's had plenty of fun w/ it. He's got a handfull of other fun cars to toy around w/ while he builds his dream 996TT

Maybe, but then it would actually run and there would be no excuses for getting your *** handed to you in one of the shoot outs you organize but don't participate in. Then you might not have the fastest car in NA on the track, dragstrip, and dyno which would negate your ability to incessantly talk **** on everyone elses cars.

Also, you wouldn't believe the R&D costs of developing a kit. Just ask someone at a company like EVO how much it cost to develop a kit such as the EVO 700 kit. Given the kit is about $30,000, even if they plan on breaking even on 10 kits sold, that's $300,000 alone to cover costs. Now imagine not only paying for the trial and error process for more power, but also suspension, brakes, weight reduction, etc.. and I hope you can see how costs skyrocket instantly.
Back to the point of the thread, how fast is the Ford GT 40? 500hp and 500tq @ 3400 pounds is respectable but nothing insane like an EVO700. What am I missing?
Chad spent a lot of money on R&D, he essentially developed his own kit. As for not putting the power to the ground, have you seen the size of the tires he´s running? The fact remains that with the information he has put onto the net from the start you could build a high performance kit for a relatively small amount of money, but some people seem to rather bash him and his endeavor. He´s been working on the car since 2001 and has continuously surpassed the benchmarks for the maximum horsepower achieved by a 996tt engine. That´s why the car is constantly in the shop, because it´s getting better by the day. As for the dispute between EVO and Chad, it was about Garret Lim´s programming which removed the throttle body shutdown at 1.3 bar. They said it could be done, but only after the shootout. As it turns out, the ECU code would have to be completely rewritten, but you can imagine what Chad thought initially. No matter, Promotive sorted it out for him. Now, wouldn´t it be nice if we took all that hate and started a political discussion?
Nothing wrong with a little trash talking especially when you spend multiple 6 figures developing a killer ride... I must have missed the actual shots he's taken at other's cars.... so many threads only so much time...
He definitely deserves credit for taking chances, regardless of how much he has to fall back on. I wish i knew what you all were talking about when it comes to the severity of his talk... all i can say is that Chad is a great guy, and a great Republican ally
Whipple Ford GT Supercharger... now THAT will be badass...
maybe Chad's ride will be prepped for a new shootout... As hopefully mine will... let's plan another shootout guys!!!(i don't stand a chance in hell)
