Pro Detail Techniques are Awesome
I had been talking to Justin Blackburn of Intrigue Detail for a bit about various detailing techniques. I was able to get the paint looking "Ok". I was reading detail sites and using different products and methods but could never get it to the mirror shine.
I ended up taking a class with Justin and he and I worked side by side on my car and the difference in the right products, methods and tools just floored me. I thought my cars paint was ok but after seeing some of the other cars that were just finished mine was terrible. SO after 7 hours this was the result. The depth is just nuts and the car is scratch and swirl free. Not covered in with glaze etc. but gone.
Thanks Justin for the guidance. Even though my shoulders and back were hurting puppies the next morning.
The first two pictures were as we just started.

What I found out I was doing was this. Using to much product. Not working it long enough. Not using enough pressure (Random Orbital). And using the wrong combination of products. Also that the finishing/detailing spray helps with final touches to level out the synthetic "Wax"

I am new to owning a 996 TT. But I am just amazed at how beautiful these cars are and how powerful they are too. Why are they not maintaining their value as the 993 TT are? These are such gorgeous machines!!

ETA: OP's car is beautiful - I wish there were some good detailers around here. I had the the dealer detail mine last year - not good... they didnt mask anything off, got compound all over the place etc...
I personally think 996TT is a better quality car overall. 993 tt looks better though (subjective opinion).
Congrats on your purchase...you will enjoy it for a long long time. Nothing comes close for the price point esp when you upgrade the turbos.
