IA600 First Impressions

In one word - WOW!!
I think this program should come with a warning along the lines of do not floor it if you have heart problems or blackout at high Gs!! The car is now actually scary!!
The pull on the car is soooo hard!! I hit 1.1 bar in 2nd gear in city driving...Cant wait to get it on the highway and the drag strip (might be driving to NYC this weekend so that should take care of the highway part )
I know many of you do not believe in the pinning back to the seat measure of performance or other qualitative statements so I scheduled a dyno session for Tuesday....Since I have the chipswitch (what a cool toy) I will dyno the car in both level 4 and stock modes and try and post the graphs and see what the true gains are.
What impressed me the most is that unlike the Upsolute, turbo spool and throttle response is much better!! Almost no lag (not more than stcok...)
For anyone on the fence about this upgrade, especailly for those who shelled out the 18K for the X50 (what a rip off!!) JUST DO IT!
Stephen - Thanx for your professionalism and great customer service!! You are truly the best!

Mansour,

Is it supposed to have more lag than stock? It sounds like in the above statement you are saying that it has equal lag to stock and that is a surprise? Is that what you were trying to get across or am I just reading it wrong?

Lou - I am comparing the lag to both stock and the Upsolute...It is my understanding that the higher bars/pressure you run the longer it takes to build up to max boost and so the more lag you feel before full boost is available. With the Upsolute maps, the lag was crazy!! no boost for a while then suddenly it starts at 0.3. With stock, the boost buildup is almost instantaneous (especially with the X50 which is wierd cause bigger turbos lag more!!). With the GIAC, the boost is not as instantaneous as stock but a hundred times better than Upsolute. Once it gets going you better put both hands on the wheel!!!
I actually just took my baby on the hishway and man....my legs are still trembling as I write this from the rush!! It is plain scary. I guess Stephen's ad which states "IA600 Warning, this kit is not for the faint at heart....You can scare a jet pilot in aTT with this stage" is very accurate!!

I think Mansour is ready for stage IV GT now

PS Stephen when does it stop? When does it become enough? It doesn't matter my newly installed ground wires are going to give me the extra 7.5HP I was lacking before

Are you comparing apples to apples here? You mention lag problems with Upsolute and now there is a significantly less with GIAC.

what other mods did you have with Upsolute?
what other mods do you have now with GIAC?

I know you have the Fabspeed exhaust (and you had this with both software), but doesn't the IA600 also include headers? Did you have this with the Upsolute?

On the same Mustang dyno, I have seen the same car put down 350 HP / 350 lb ft stock and 400 HP/432 lb ft with _just_ the Upsolute chip. Not bad for $500 chip... I look forward to seeing your dyno runs.

Thanks,

-Skaria

Your excitement really comes through on your post. That really sounds like a beast. Congrats and enjoy.

skaria - I have not changed mods between Upsolute and GIAC - everyehing about the car is the same...
As for the headers subject, yes the IA600 strictly includes headers. However, I was not going to do headers until I finalize what I am going to do with my turbos. Without the headers I should get the full torque of the IA600 but be a few ponies off on the HP figures.
I guess the dyno will tell all....
