One more reason to Love the 996 Turbo Cab.
Just completed a four day run from Vancouver Canada to San Francisco and Back. We covered almost 2000 miles and it was awesome. The car did not disappoint on any level ... performance, comfort, economy(great mileage) and style. I really have to say I liked this car a lot before this trip but now I love it! Hardcore performance with long range capability.... does it get any better? The icing on the cake is the boat that we purchased...33ft with 1000HP

Yup, a great car to tour in...
How many hours did you drive each day? Though it's a great touring car, if I were to drive more than eight hours a day in my TT I'd be pretty stiff and sore.
I've been able to get around 27 mpg on the highway. What was your average trip mileage?
Beautiful boat by the way...

Mileage and Distance
We traveled from Vancouver to Sacramento the first day. 15 hours total including a dinner stop in Ywreka. Our mileage was as good as 30 mpg and as low as 25mpg due to elevation changes and traffic. Best mileage was achieved in 6th revs at 2800 to 3000 at 80 to 85 mph. On the way back we detoured off I5 at Portland and took 26 to Astoria and 4 back to I5 at Kelso ( both awesome roads to test your skills behind the wheel). I did not find the car to be too hard on my body, sure I was tired after the long drives but surprisingly not too stiff or sore.

This boat is 10000lbs. I am not sure the 996 would be the best choice for a tow vehicle. However it was an excellent choice for a fast trip down for an inspection and water test.
