Well thanks for the input- I'm going to keep mulling it over this weekend. The white and brown is pretty awesome. I had assumed black would be the only color with white, but after seeing the swatch at the dealer I feel pretty good about the car.

I have driven some 997TT/996TTs and I have driven this specific GT2. The GT2 is by far the most frightening in the rain... which occurs daily in FL at 3pm. I'm hoping to DE and autox the car occasionally, but no club racing so the GT2 may be a little ridiculous for me.

The $15K price difference is also a nice chunk of change, I feel that I could get the GT2 rear wing and front nose put on for that kind of money and still be under the total cost. Now I know its not a real GT2, but I will actually be able to drive it in the rain/snow!

Thanks for the input!

A GT2 is worth about 40K more...Is this the GT2 that belongs to the mental patient who wants 65K and then starts addding money as the sale gets closer to closing?

If it is really a good shape GT2 for 65k the person selling must be stark raving mad.

We vetted that car pretty well....guy from the boards tried to buy it, then the price went up to 73k, still a good buy, but one has to wonder. Get it in writing and good luck.

There are many many more differences between a TT and a GT2 than just the wing, rwd and badging.

Well I'm going to pick up the 2002 911TT this weekend in NY.

The GT2 didnt work out (to put it lightly). The owner was waffling all week, and then he told me that he would only accept a wire transfer, and that I would have to wait for the funds to appear in his account with no holds before he would give me the title or car. Too much risk for me, as he has already gone back on our deal once and then changed the price.

So if anyone comes a cross a Polar Silver on black GT2 in southern florida with VIN WPOAB29992S696070; the front end was resprayed, and the owner raised the price after I had already written out the cashiers check, then when I agreed to the new price, waffled about selling the car, then finally told me he would only accept a wire transfer where I would not recieve title or car until 72hrs after the transaction...

Dudley Collin Crooks in Plantation, FL you are a not a good person.

Crazy idea, but can't one simply put X50 programming in a GT2 to get PSM? I imagine all the sensors are there already for the ABS.

To the OP, a GT2 is much more of an investment is is sure to maintain resale value. There were only 300 or so ever brought to the US. many have been crashed and exported in recent years.

I LIKE the color combo == unique but not goofy.

Seems like a very fair deal for a great car. GT2 is a different animal

and will hold its value

Yeah the GT2 is a good deal, if you could actually get the seller to part with it!!! He won't play ball and I"m not giving him $65K without either the car or title in hand.
