I just went to the 997 OEM SSK and was wondering what SSK this is? I want to list it accurately for sale, the other side is stamped 04/04 and 0018.

That's an oem 996 ssk

 

How is your new 997 shifter compared to your old 996 ssk? I have always wondered which way to go?

 

The 996 OEM shifter had a more "mechanical" feel to it and I think that made the shifts feel shorter. The 997 unit is more buttery and feels smoother, but longer.

I think they are about the same in function but different in feel.

 

I had that same oem ssk in my 996, it was great, very smooth. But it takes a lot of time to adjust properly. The ssk in my 997 is great too.
