$49K X50, 12K miles, good deal?

Well I found a nice 2002 X50, 6 spd with 12K miles, all stock. White with Natural Brown Leather (as in the entire car is natural brown leather), PCM, sport seats, seatbacks painted white, new HRE wheels, new tires, new brakes, fully dealer serviced.

Do you guys think this is a fair price with a documented history, no accidents and 2 independent PPIs that show no issues?

It's either this car for $49K, a GT2 for $65K/19K miles, or wait to get a 997TT around the new year.

Can anyone comment on the Natural Brown Leather- is this a desirable color or is it crap? Please help.

I don't think the interior is that great but it seems like a fair but not smokin deal. If you like the look of the car and the wheels and the seller seems alright you should buy it because your not getting hurt at that price! New tires and just serviced means a lot as well.

Sounds like a decent deal for those low miles. Natural Brown seems to be a bit of negative in general but if you like it who cares? A clean GT2 with 19k miles seems like a great deal though for 65k!

white on brown is hot...I like the sound of it. Probably close to $49K is fair with X50 model and HRE wheels.

Colt, The natural brown leather is neither a positive or negative at this point in the pre-sale. From what you have described this machine seems to be the best fit for you right now. The X50 gives you a little more seat-of-the-pants boost and it would probably suite your needs well. If you are a more experienced operator and would not need the GT2 as a DD; then I would go for that one because of the 2wd purest feel of the 2. At this point the Natural Brown leather should be what you like or dislike. From a re-sale point of view it is not the most sought after. Best of luck in your decision. If you purchased either, post-em up when she gets home!!!Kenny

hehehe Decisions decisions lol Personally for those prices and mileage, I'd go for the GT2. The reason being that it will be a collectors car so most likely the depreciation shouldn't drop much more and will probably begin to appreciate. That being said, don't buy these cars as investments. Buy them to drive, because there's much better ways to make money than investing in cars thats' for sure! But honestly they both sound like great deals.

Nice car - good price - and white is HOT...

But - if you can swing the GT2 - Man, you may want to look at that close.

Good luck.

GT2, assuming it is also in top shape. relatively speaking the depreciation likely to be less steep vs. regular turbo.

Have you driven all three?

I'd probably wait until the new year and get the 997TT. Newer technology. More creature comforts. More likely to find one with certified warranty. That said, if you're waiting for the prices on teh 997TT to come down to 65k, I doubt they will over the next 6 months, unless, of course, you are buying from auction.

You are taking my dream car! Hahah. Its a great deal. I got an 02 with 18k X50 no sport seats, but had the sport wing and lip for $49k out the door. Your deal is a dream. White is what I wanted, get the car and I will trade you instantly. Im blue on silver interior with a CF wheel.

Seems like a great deal to me...that's just about what I paid for my '02 non-X50 a year ago (and what a FUN year it's been ).
