Cost for factory Turbo or GT2 front bumper?
Cost for factory Turbo or GT2 front bumper?
Does anyone know of a good resource to price out factory body parts? Im trying to compare the cost of replacing my factory AERO Kit front bumper vs. Upgrading to a GT2? I know there are great replicas out there but looking to start with the price difference going the factory replacement route.. If it's not too big a difference ill stay original.. otherwise i'll go with an aftermarket version
Thanks for any insight!

didn't see any individual factory body parts.. just copies. ill try calling tomorrow, thanks!
Curious though, of the TT people on this board with GT2 front bumper covers... how many are porsche original and how many are copies? Is the original worth it quality or resale wise?

Almost any Porsche dealer would be able to provide you a quote, call at least two because some dealers do an above retail markup. There are a few additional parts that you want like the three grills & small accessories, if you want to do it properly then the adapter to tilt the radiator to GT2 spec is necessary.
We carry a complete line of OEM Porsche replacement body parts.
We can usually save you some $$ over what a dealer would charge for the same parts.
Feel free to shoot me an email- we ship world wide as well.

I priced this out, since I have damage to my bumper cover, and I made it a point to check out several aftermarket bumper covers. Every single fiberglass replica I looked at didn't line up exactly and had issues with cracking.
Right now I have an OEM 996TT cover in my garage I need t have painted. I'm debating selling it and buying the GT2 cover and setting it aside while I collect the other parts for the conversion...
I'll never put an aftermarket glass bumper cover on the car. Personally, I think it makes these cars start to look a lot more japanese and a lot less german!

The GT2 oem bumber requires the radiator to be angled like it is on the GT2, I don't know if it requires a new radiator or just new brackets/positioning. I do know its a huge pita which is why most get a mashaw replica (which I have). Dunno why someone above said most get the oem front bumber, it requires to much reworking of the front end to be worth it (not to mention the extra cost over a replica in the first place). Fit and finish of my mashaw bumper is great, as with anything (including oem) half the battle is a good bodyshop who will prep it properly so it fits right.
You will probably spend at least twice as much to go with the oem gt2 bumper over a replica.
I am in 100% agreement with GTDeux on this one. The GT2 nose is a functional aerodynamic part, when properly installed with all of the proper brackets, supports, water lines, and bumper support.
Also, Someone may have paid $5000+ to have a unit installed on their car, but I wouldn't be paying that. I do most of my own work and would be installing the parts myself.
I guess I'm just dumbfounded that people haven't thought it thru when considering these parts. For me, it's more about function than form.

Regardless, I'd much rather add funtion to my car, something that may help it perform better at the speeds I personally experience the car in (on track) than have a nice set of shiney wheels, or bits of over priced carbon fiber.
