Hail 2 All :) Nice to finally meet U
Hi there! I am Lefteris aka Paladin as my friends call me. Registered at your forum a few weeks back but wanted to finalize my car purchase in order to write something (2 many people write but dont actually have or intend to get a porsche). The car??.. already known in here, and as far as I can see, it holds a quite respectable position at the 60-130 mph measurement. I bought the car that madsex323 had (996TT).
Background? hmmm...nothing as fast as this (unless we count the 204 bhp gsxr1000, but its on 2 wheels) .. M3 CS, an 2005 imprezza STI slightly tuned and a 300zxtt heavily tuned.
I have my fair share of trackdays both with bikes and cars so the car will get into track a few times per year. I use your post concerning suspension as my main guide since the car has standard suspension and I dont think it can cope with the way it will be treated.
I will have to get to used to it first, see how it handles and then decide on which path to follow. So suspension is one issue to concider. The second would be traction, and by saying this I mean the brand and model of rubber that can hold the car in a satisfactory manner in the road. I was very happy with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 at the M3.. (obviously I suppose the way u drive a 996TT is completely different..which I have no idea so far what is the correct way to drive it...brake at entrance, let it roll and accelerate at the apex?...fast entrance, lift of the gaz a bit, correct with steering wheel and accelerate away?) ...
I do think that I will have several question as I go down the porsche road, and nag you with them... but besides the looks etc etc the main reason I got the car is the challenge to be able and drive a car like this fast..
Kind regards,
Lefteris
