sounds too good
Carfax is not a sure thing. I had a serious accident when a lady rammed my SLK32. 18K worth of damage and it never showed up on carfax.
The best way is the way you already suggested. Have them do a PPI at the local Porsche dealer.
Sounds fishy, but good luck

Go check with some Porsche dealers in your area and see what they have under their CPO program. Unless I knew the owner I would have a hard time buying from a private party. Parts and labor too $$$ at stake to make a hasty decision.
If he really wanted to sell the car, couldn't he go to any dealership and offer a cash sale? Even with the crappy economy, any dealer would be insane not to take the car (assuming its in good condition) for 10k under blue book.
thats what i suggested earlier, didnt get a reply
i knew it had to be a scam but was suprised how much info he gave me, name, address, vin and offered to let my friend come and check it out at his address
