A match made at Orbit Racing , EvoGT700 & new transmission
After careful consideration on the benefits available from the Evo GT700 package now installed and operational in my car, I visited Roger at Orbit Racing and asked him to build the perfect transmission for this package which now produces 625lbs of torque at 4200 rpm and 600rwhp at 5800 rpm. I have attached a graph on the gear speeds and gear data for those interested.
The benefits of this new custom built transmission from porsche motorsports parts are that i can achieve speeds of close to 90mph at red line in second gear by being abel now to change second gear ratios, maintain high rpm between shifts to keep maximum boost and achieve a true top speed of 206mph.
First gear is fixed on the new shaft from porsche motorsports; the ratio on this one is a 13/41 with a speed of 49mph at 7000rpm.
The wheel rpm is as follows:
Gear / wheel RPM
1 / 644.37
2 / 1146.40
3 / 1443.97
4 / 1818.34
5 / 2211.57
6 / 2709.68

speed graph
this is the projected speed per gear at the different rpm levels. sixth gear goes of the chart up to 206mph at 7000 rpm

I just built my 996TT gearbox with similar gears to Xicos car. I replaced 3rd-6th with closer ratios and a top speed of about 175 MPH. I also replaced the syncros with the motorsport steel syncros for more durability and a motorsport LSD. The gears are roughly $3000-3500 depending on ratios and the Motorsports LSD is about $1800. This setup is great for the street or track. There is much less RPM drops between shifts for much quicker acceleration. E-mail me directly at info@evoms.com if you have any questions.

I don't believe it. Times are a changing.
Anyone install a tranny cooler.
If you are going through that labor cost don't forget to dry lube coat the gears. Your friction loss will go down.

Xico,
I may be mistaken, but if you are not changing first, the you could have problems. First gear is only good to 38 mph @ 6750 rpm. I believe their is a rev limiter in first at about 6000 rpm's. Either way there appears to be a big gap between first and second. Hope I'm wrong.

Guys , first gear was also changed , it was fixed on the new shaft and it will take me to 49mph at 7000rpm. i have updated the first post and have also posted the wheel rpm per gear.

If it will take you to 48 mph @ 7000 rpm's, then you are using approx. 3:16-1 ratio. Good choice.
