Extended Warranty for 2005 Turbo "S"

My car has just come out of warranty it only has 6k miles on it. Anyone know what the cost of an extended warranty would be?

Thanks

Easy Care- cost me 3.5-4K along with an inspection / oil change. My car had 3500 mile at the time too.

I paid $3400 for a 6yr/60K mile warranty through the local porsche dealer here in Melbourne, FL. It's the "Platinum" which is their top product.

I'm about to take it in Wednesday to have the sunroof and clutch pedal replaced/looked at. I'm also experiencing a second gear "pop-out" issue, so I will let you know how it goes.

Shok-

Really do your homework on Mods versus Coverage. Any engine mods (flash, exhaust, intake, wastegates) will almost certainly result in 'non-coverage' for any drivetrain failure.

Put the $3-4k in the bank and self insure- if you will be modding

FWIW

TurboCab is infamous around these parts
My 2004 had 5800 miles on it and my 6 year, 60K warentee cost about $2,600 from the Porsche dealer.

I have 8200 miles on her with several mods so a warranty is not very useful at this point.

Colt, you may want to get in touch with the original poster of this thread about the "pop-out" issue!!!! He may be starting a class action lawsuit against Porsche so I'm sure he'd be very happy to hear from you.

Re: the 2nd gear issue (sorry for the threadjack Shok):

I've often thought that going to an Indy as opposed to a Porsche dealer would be a better strategy for an aftermarket warranty. Porsche knows about the pop out, and will run their tried and true procedure: "Is it abuse, we need to charge you for the tear down and inspection to look at the internals before we can say 'not abuse" .

An Indy may not know about this or might be less inclined to do so.

Of course a dealer might not care if it is an 3rd party warranty... BUT I would want to be pretty sure the dealer is FULLY on my side before I allowed them to open the conversation with the warranty company...
