Do I need a 4 door sedan?
Fellow TT/GT2 owners. Wifey is going to start driving the Cayenne to her new job which means it will be either dirty or unavailable.
Thus I need a vehicle for the times (once or twice a week) when I go somewhere w/ my son. Will it be too much of a hassle to get my 2 year old in and out of either the M3 or the G35? Or will I be fine w/ a 2 door?

Yup...I have the same problem. I have 3 small children, had an M3 and M35. The infiniti is a rolling living room. Boring as all get out. M3 was a little problematic in terms of 2 door access, but rear seat space was certainly adequate for children/small adults. It's no 996 TT, but and M3 is a decent 2nd car. My buddies call the infiniti my "grandpa car". Its gone in 2 weeks, and i'm going with a Hummer H3 for my 2nd car. It should be fun up here in the snow/ice. Then i can tow my 996TT to the track as well.
4 door.
Try the M3 Sedan. I use it as my semi-daily drive and it's perfect. The M5 was a bit large/heavy for my taste though it was fine and faster topend as an freeway hauler. The M3 handles much better and is quicker and more nimble. Just don't expect it to be comfortable for 5 adults- 4 is fine however. Also, I'd recommend the DCT setup.
My DD is a 335 coupe. It's not so cool with a child seat esp in tight parking spots. I am going to sell the coupe and get a 335xi sedan as the prices have crashed into the mid 20's for a 30k example.
To be clear, my M3 is an E46 2 door (w/ 585 rwhp) not a 4 door. If I were to get a 4 door I would sell/trade the G35.

Shawn get one of these! Throw some GT28's in it and make around 700-800HP. Definitely kid friendly too

Good luck in your search. But I have a sneaky suspision that whatever car you do decide on is going to get modded.....
Peter,
You are the resident expert on cars and kids....will I get sick of loading my mini me into theback seat of a 2 door?
Alan,
You still training w/ Renzo? I have been teaching somewhere where I can still whup everyone at my advanced age....a TKD school
However I am getting shoulder surgery in a month so I can barely even lift weights anymore.

I don't "need" a 4 door vehicle, but we have two... My megacab dodge, and my wife's E36 BMW. Reality is that we have more room than we need, so when she finally cries uncle, I'll replace her bimmer (and use it as my beater) and buy her a two door coupe of some sort, hopefully I can talk her into a CaymenS or a Carrera!
Sean, dealing with children, I'd have a 4door car... However, do your homework, as "SOME" 4door sedans are actually less safe than their 2door counterparts. They typically don't fare as well in side impact crash testing.
Also, how about some info on the G35? Wife has put that at the top of her list of "wants" and I have no idea why...
Happy Hunting!
