Spoiler not working at all ! Durametric code 9150 please help

hey guys just got my new to me 2001 black on black 996 tt with 19k miles on it. but for some reason my spoiler won't move at all. You push the button on the dash and you get the dreaded light. Tried listening for any hydraulic pump whine (like its trying to lift it) and hear nothing. It doesn't seem like its leaking or corroded. My durametric tool came up with 9150 spoiler control status: present. Not sure what that means but any help will be greatly appreciated. Also my key remote is not working, I know this is a common problem but i've tried everything (turning battery around trick, trying new battery etc.) light on remote works fine and if i lock the car with the key I can turn on the alarm system. So I am confused. I await patiently for your response.

for the spoiler...fuse (D7), relay or microswitch (or the drive is faulty). For the key, neither key works? When you activate the remote, does it flash and what does the dash light do? Most likely it needs to be re-paired with the immobilizer...which you need PST2 or PIWIS. After you get it to work there is also a TSB for your remoteRemote TSB

My spoiler is dead too. It's the second time! The first time I was leaking hydraulic fluid until it didn't raise anymore. I bought a used wing and took the motor off of that and put it in my car. That lasted about a year. It's a well known problem that the motor breaks on the rear spoiler. The problem may be in a faulty micro-switch (it's connected to the right cylindrical motor), leaky (it's possible all the fluid is gone) hydraulic fluid or failed motor(s).

I'm going with a fixed GT2 wing!

Good luck.

Mine died and i'm not even getting a fault code. Nothing. I only recently noticed it doesn't raise anymore above 70mph.

You're luckier than me. The fault code popping up while you're driving is really annoying!

We've had a rash of wing problems in our shop lately. Just last week two cars required motors. We have replaced a few hydraulic rams, and fixed a few leaks. They aren't fun to diagnose either.

911TurboRules is this an "easy" DIY swap? I was looking into the same thing. Sounds like it is probably less $$$ in the long run.

Supposedly it's just getting the decklid and wing, having a shop paint it and then it's a direct bolt-on to the car. Un-bolt the decklid, undo the wiring, and bolt on the new decklid and reconnect the wires. You either short out some wires in the factory harness to stop the warning lights from popping up or buy a new harness that does this (part number 996 612 070 30). I think it should be easier than replacing the motors (although that wasn't too bad).
