i have a fuel pressure problem, now i know this line seems bad but it looks torn from the outside, doesn't look bad from the inside. I will change it but i was wondering if it was on the pressure side or on the return side, just to know if i have to investigate further. I am just lacking fuel pressure, car still runs so i still have pressure but not enough for high load.

I could be wrong, but it looks like that black piece was added....usually it is just the white piece of rubber (as shown in the diagram)...mine was the white piece and it is the fuel pickup line...the pump was pumping the fuel back into the tank...LOL

 

what is up with this. A rash of problems with fuel pump/hoses?
A few posts on this makes me think that it's a part designed without Ethynol in mind.
I haven't shredded mine since it came off the flatbed, but I think I'm going to find the same thing.
