Thoughts on EVOMSit Tiptronic Transmission Upgrade

Hey folks, now that we've spent some time on this new software tweak, I just wanted to give you our experience with the new EVOMSit software for the tiptronic transmission. We brought in one of our favorite 997TT EVT700 Tiptronic projects to perform the upgrade on (plan on at least a couple of hours to remove/re-install the TCU). This upgrade is for tiptronic 996TT's as well.

First thing you notice is the increase to the TCU rev limiters to match the raised rev limiters in the ECU which lets you shift at 7000 RPMS which is 250 RPMS higher than stock. And yes the shifting quicker and increased the TQ limits to maximize acceleration and power delivery.
Normal driving is just that. There's no stutters or driveability issues. Now put the hammer down and watch the revs go deeper into redline before shifting. And then as far as the shift goes it's quite a dramatic difference if you're used to the rather sedate sloppy shifts (especially that 3rd to 4th). It certainly cuts down the time it takes. One other nice thing is on the down shift. The revs drop considerably quicker. If I had to come up with some sort of analogy I'd compare it to driving a 6speed car with a dual mass flywheel and then upgrading to a single mass light weight flywheel. It's that noticeable and a pretty neat upgrade for Tiptronic owners.
As a former 996TT tiptronic owner (back in the day) I only wish I'd had something like this available in my drag racing days
So although Tip guys can't upgrade to a LWF like the 6speed guys at least there's another mod for you to do to help with the transmission

From someone who has had to get his tiptronic replaced (dealer quoted me $8k)as well as talking to a handful of other folks that have had tiptronic replacements on stock non-modified cars, how does this upgrade effect the longevity and durability of the transmission?
Great question.
Alex, watch this video. I'm having that dreaded 3-4th gear sloppy shift. Will this fix that problem reallY? If so, my TCU is in the mail bud.
