So last night after BlackWhorseTurbo and I parted ways to head home from Mexico I'm minding my own business, cruising at what felt like 15mph after some spirited Mexico runs. As i'm merging onto the freeway two cars come up on my tail very quickly. At this point i'm setting my cruise at 65 ready to take it easy. First car (Dodge Calibre) pulls out and as he's slowly creeping up on my left I hear the driver feathering the gas in attempt to get his car to blow-off. After a few taunts he takes off for probably half a gear and falls back inline with me. I downshift to third honk three times give him the move and go WOT. Reel his initial jump in immediately and proceeded to put a handful of carlengths on him by 110. As we slowed down he had a buddy in tow driving a mid 90's body style Mustang. He wanted to go from a much lower speed so slowing down to about 45 we ran with me being a dozen or so carlengths ahead at 110+ Both guys were super cool pulling up giving me thumbs up and going their own way.

Note: I presume the Calibre was modded. It was louder than I would imagine it being stock and had a very very loud blow off valve setup. Eitherway I was actually really impressed with the car. Definitely a budget racer for sure!

 

Nice kills. I have to say Ben, your car is very fast. I will post up our run and the stories as well this morning. Good times last night in Mexico.

 

Had lots of fun last night too buddy. Can't believe after all the hooplah that apart from our few runs the most action I saw all night was on the way home when I had intended to mind my own business. I'm trying to find out more about this Calibre that I ran into. It was pretty damn quick I'm thinking mopar/turbo upgrades for sure.

Ok so a little research has revealed the Caliber was running either a 100 or 150 shot. That would explain the faster than anticipated acceleration.
