Thumbs up Found 04 Turbo Cab

I have found a willing seller for a TT Cab with 34K miles for $54000...most are asking well in excess of $60K. What do you pros think? Anything specific to watch for on the purchase?

And, if you own a similar P car, do you absolutely love it?

Thanks for your help.

Cab...man, just cannot do that. But that's me!

Tell me it's a 6 speed....

Anywayt, price sounds good although in this market it is a moving taeget- you MUST have a thorough PPI done. Find an expert on 996TTs, do not assume the dealer is the bsst. There is no such thing as a "Porsche PPI" that is common to all dealers/mechanics. Every dealer has a different idea as to what to inspect.

I recommend a Porsche CPO checklist/inspection- use that set of inspections/standards. Add a dump of the DME for all codes and errors, over revs. Maybe add a bodywork inspection if anything seems amiss. Good ownership records? All maintenance?

For a pristine car, with great records, few owners and no stories, a few more $$s might be warranted.

Oh, get a picture of the white sticker on the underside of the front trunk- it has al the option codes. You can find out ezxacly what was on the car from the factory... if you can't find the 2004 order guide PM me an email addy.

If the vehicle is in Austin have David Moore at Moorespeed PPI the car prior to commiting. David is as good as they get.

I have a 04 cab + Tip... love her. I have never owned/liked a convertable before, but now I open the top everytime I get into the car, even on a cold day. However, if you plan on driving the car above 140 all the time, get a coupe; the aero factor does come in at high speed.

I also have an 04 X-50 Cab. Bought it five months ago with 5k on the clock. Love it. Needed a convertible here in San Diego.
Good luck

I paid high 60's. Looked for a year before I found the one I wanted. It was (and is) flawless, so I didn't have a problem paying that much.
I love the car, my third porsche. Sold a Cayman S a year ago to buy this one and would do it again in a minute. It's powerful, built like a safe and the fastest car I've ever owned.
You will not regret it

I have an 04 Cab after 6 coupes both turbo and na's. I live near the shore and the cab is great especially if you want to make the wife happy too. 04 is the 1st year for 996 turbo cabs. I had 3 other turbos and the 04 is a good year to have as a lot of issues were worked out by then. These cars are strong and take a lot of hard driving as long as you respect them and maintain them. Make sure the car you are getting has not been abused and that all proper maintainance has been done and then enjoy it. Good luck.
