new window regulators???

The inside of my windows have oil streaks from the window regulators. I've been told I need new regulators. Is this true or can they be repaired or cleaned off to prevent the oil streak? My car is an 02 with only 9k miles on it.

The streaks are probably from the rubber squeegee (sp?) and not the regulators themselves. The inner ones are felt lined, tend to collect oils and get grimey. Roll down your windows and wash them off with warm soapy water (use mild dish soap), rinse well and report back.

there is a pad inside the door, that's the cause. The pad can be removed and then no more streaks.
