Decklid/wing questions

I have searched to no avail for these answers. When I bought my '02 Turbo, it had a GT2-style wing installed. Seller (a 6Speeder) also sold me an extra aerokit decklid.

1) I am trying to identify manufacturer of each. The aerokit deck is stamped:

996-612.221.00
EP/UP GF25
Made in Switzerland

I can't find a stamping/part number on the GT2 lid (though I haven't taken the fan and other accessories off to look yet). Where do I look and what kind of part number(s) should I look for?

2) I like the aerokit wing and want to swap between the two to see which I really prefer. The swap/install doesn't look too complicated. I have searched and seen people referencing needing a new wiring harness, but that is usually when someone is going from stock to aftermarket. Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

All input is greatly appreciated.

I'm sure there is someone better to answer this than I but I'll take a crack.
  1. There is no convention for where (or if) a part number is stamped....especially if it's made in Taiwan .....On the upside, the number you mention seems a possible OE Porsche number...and it is possible the OE aero wing-lid was sourced from a Swiss supplier......you did mean whole rear wing & lid did you not?......you simply mentioned 'lid'....BTW, if you do not want it, let me know
  2. If you currently are not experiencing any spoiler error lights, you will also not experience any if you change rear lids.....no new harness required.

Thanks - so far, yours is the best answer ;-).

No error messages now, so I should be good to go.

And yes, aerokit decklid and wing are one piece. A little research led me to believe that no one makes an aerokit replica, so the "Made in Switzerland" seemed a little odd.

I'll take some pics tomorrow on the GT2 wing and see if the experts can identify it.
