Dr_jitsu vs liter bike
Actually R/T DOES impact ET if you are in a handicapped bracket race. Ever bracket race and run right on your number and still lose? You're right, even in Sean and Peters heads up race, R/T will matter.
vbmw and ttboost are both right. 1/4 mile is about ET. the trap speed doesn't win the race, the ET does. you are splitting hairs. RT does not add or detract from the ET. So if you run each car independently it is only ET that matters. RT comes in during bracket racing where reaction time is relevant. But for measured time over distance ET is what matters.
I'd love to try it...sitting in sweltering leathers, waiting for the track crew to clean up some cars guts off the track...sounds like fun...love to try it sometime...
LOL, this thread is awesome...
Sean pulled 10 car lengths on a Hayabusa.
Prsch - come on down man, first beer on me, but only if it's the good TX stuff - Shiner... As for the tranny, google LC2 for the GTR, it completely changes the launch control on the car. In actuality, it was wheel hop induced by 5,500 rpm launches that was breaking stuff. Now LC2 allows you to launch in R mode (no more VDC OFF) and does so at about 2,600 rpm. MUCH less violent, but still good for 3.5 second 0-60 times stock.

Also do you ever get limp modes after the LC2 update? My friends car seems to be getting a lot of transmisson TQ limit reached limp modes often , wonder if its the tune?
Now i am tempted to go to Texas mile this year as a spectator. Not sure if anyone is going from Chicago , I know Markski is busy with his new setup.

yup, heads up RT does matter, but the ET is unaffected. I think everyone has the right idea.
I had a friend who wanted to test out his car, and he would redlight half the time, so I asked him why he redlighted when he wasn't racing anyone. He said that he wanted to get the best ET possible. After I explained it to him, he understood. If you are not racing heads up, no need to beat the tree. Just sit there until you are ready to roll.
this thread is sooo pumped up now that neither the doc or petey can back out..... you guys are throwing down!! You cant buidl this much up and NO race!! and it better be recorded for our viewing pleasure!!!

I have a slip in hand where I ran a 10.72 and beat the other car who ran a 10.53. My reaction time was .2846 better so I got across the finish line first and I win.
DMaffo - sorry, the only way for you to witness the carnage is for you to fly in! Or drive in!
vbmw - yea, I know the COBB tune helps a lot with up top power. My GTR went 120.1 mph in the 1/4 mile bone stock and it did fall on its face at over 110 or so. I have 5 or 6 friends that have the COBB and not one has ever had a limp mode issue, I wonder what that is about...???
