question on ecu flash

On my car I already have a FVD custom flash, but have been thinking about trying out a different tuners flash.. do I need to reflash my car back to the stock file before flashing it with another brand tuners flash program?

Let the tuner you choose deal with your existing flash.

You should NOT need to go stock before re-flashing.

Flashing typically consists of raising the boost, and reprogramming your fuel and ignition maps. Regardless of what tune is on the car now, your tuner of choice should have a base map to upload based on your setup, and fine-tune from there.

Hope that helps,

TK

Larry,

Most of the same level tunes are very similar and many are the same. The FVD is not a bad tune, so I don't think you will gain anything material by just switching tunes. If you are looking for improved performance, I would take the money you are going to spend on a new tune and use it to upgrade turbos. If you are not happy with the driveability of your current tune, then that is a different story.

I agree, I would upgrade my turbos before I went to a different tune. And to answer your question, no you do not need to revert back to your stock tune.

I also have the FVD tune (K16/24) and I love it. No problems with LWFW with stalling, air fuel is perfect (always around 12/1)
I had 3 different tunes before but this will be my last, very happy with it.
