offleaseautobrokers.com opinions?
Hi, never heard of the place you mentioned. I did work with a broker when I picked up my 2004 Turbo Cab. Very reputable guy. Everything went excatly as he said from start to finish. I would use him again. Scottsdale sports and classic Motorcars. John Miraglia, principal. Enclosed transport delivery of my car to my front door (white glove delivery) was $700 from Scottsdale to San Jose (embassy-exclusive.com). check out his website (scottsdalesport.com). You can also have him try to find a car for you.
auction fee - approx 1-2.5% of winning bid (approx $550 on $40K sale)
post sale inspection fee - approx $120-210 depending on winning bid
shipping and reconditioning - we will be able to tell you within $200 how much the shipping and reconditioning will be before we bid
mark-up - varies based on winning bid but usually btwn $1500-2500
I suppose that if you are local to the auction, the car doesn't need reconditioning and their mark-up is minimal, $2200 is a good quote.
That's interesting. According to their Buying Process, the buyer pays in addition to the auction sales price:

I had my dealer go to the real Mannheim in PA (when I lived there) to find a car. He is PCA friendly. Said after 6 months that there was nothing that had come up to make me happy. The cars were all going to Eastern Europe at the time.....fwiw.

I've been to several Manheim high line auctions in CA, they are a complete waste of time. All of the nice stuff gets sold on dealer lots and you pay for the privledge. At auction you get what you pay for. Buyer beware.

I also have manheim auction access. These guys are right when they say you get what you pay for. Most 911's I see there are repo's these days with no history, broken this or that, and flat tires. They usually sit in the yard for a couple months before they get ran. During that time, anybody can get in and do whatever they want to the car. The auction is great is many ways but you don't want a 911 from an auction.
