New owner, '02 X50

I am a new owner of a 2002 TT and really love the car. I must say that I like 6 speed online...not alot of flaming like some other sites I have seen.

One or two issues...does anyone wish the steering wheel adjusted up and down rather than just telescope?
Also, I find the ride and driving experience nice but a bit isolated like a big heavy grand tourer...or Corvette. (sorry, no intent to offend!). Maybe Im just used to my now sold, Cayman S.

I have heard that swapping the suspension makes the 996 more exciting and engaging to drive but after putting a JIC suspension on my CS I dont want to have a suspension that is too track oriented. PSS9's or 10's might be appropriate?

The power and handling are great though and I cant wait to make some "improvements".

The stock suspension has a lot of travel and sometimes floats.....I recently installed the PSS10 setup and it feels like a whole different car .... much tighter, planted and responsive.

Thanks for the tip. I know it has been covered adnauseum, but in a word does the car become harsh and jarring as a daily driver or do you get a decent comprimise between comfort and handling?

Thanks.

PS Yes I do enjoy the tourque...and so will the Michelin tire company

Sharky .... long time no talk. I have to drop by your shop. ABCar. The PSS10 is firm but not harsh. Much, much better city ride if you are looking for better handling and feeling planted on the road. The vagueness and cushy ride will be gone replaced by a sense of control and confidence in your ride.

I have really just began driving my car (alone) and around town and in the country for the last two days. The more I drive the more I want to drive it! What a great car in so many ways! This is my 3rd Porsche and my favorite. I loved my SC but it was crude and I modded so much I did not enjoy it daily. My Cayman was great and I had that car perfectly set up...and thought there could be no better. Although I love the materials and "perfection" of the newer Porsche intereriors...I am amazed at the 996 tt's versatility as a daily driver and absolute missile a second later when I drop the go fast pedal. What a great car...and I never thought I would say this about a 996, but I love staring at it in my garage...or anywhere.

Have you detailed yours yet? You know, the clay, the polish, the wax?
I did last weekend...got 2 coats of Zaino on and will put 4 more on when my next batch arrives...I hate running out of product in the middle of detail!
