Gingerman Raceway
Gingerman Raceway
Short notice... but, Gingerman Raceway has open track this weekend... should be pretty empty, but weather is supposed to be nice and dry... I'm most likely gonna head up to run for a few hours with a couple buddies... if you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Well... had a great time out there. There was only ~6 cars. Basically, had the place to ourselves, and just as an added bonus, we all received a free evening pass for next season.
Got a ride in a Radical (Busa motor). Fun track toy... he was turning high 1:20s... should be capable of mid 1:10s.
Gotta say, as harsh as the JIC's (9/12 kg/mm) are for the Chicago streets, they really were nice at the track. With the stock sways and proper alignment, car was very smooth and fairly neutral, with good throttle-steer response.
The Upsolute/Kevin II setup performed just fine at 1.1~1.2BAR. The ABS/PSM light did pop up once probably because I'm running on the limits of the ECU-programmed MAF limit, as it was only intended to run 1.1BAR, and I've got the wastegates set to 1.1~1.2. I'm having Upsolute in Austria tweak the program to uncork the MAF limitation so that I can unleash the wastegate to 1.3~1.4. Kevin's turbos are good for up to ~1.8BAR. (And I'm still researching, but I think a forum member may unknowingly have defeated the throttle-body safeguard.)
I only timed 2 out of the ~25 laps that I did. 1:36x and 1:37 flat. Weather was sunny but cold, and track felt greasy. I didn't really push the limits to much as to not risk any off-track excursions. Didn't spin either. (I know, if you didn't spin, you didn't drive hard enough... but I know the track pretty well)
The 235/305 19" P-Zeros were impressive. They were linear and predictable, and had decent grip despite weather. No noticeable wear. IMO, having tracked with 18" and 19" street tires, I find them surprisingly comparable.
I couldn't think of a nicer way to end the season... it's open for a few more days in Nov... try to hit it if you can!
