For under $3000, it appears like a good upgrade

Great upgrade and great price. Be aware, the ad says that they include stock wastegates. Not good for anything over 1bar. Also, not sure of your experience level, but you need many more supporting mods to take advantage of these turbos. Don't expect to bolt them on and gain 200hp. At a minimum, you need exhaust, some sort of fueling, likely a clutch and a definitely a proper tune. Many people buy "kits" from vendors here that include most of these things, in which case you also get service.

Hopefully they started with a brand new set. Your other option is to buy some stock, new K24's and have them modded by Blauch or other shop with good wastegates, etc... For a few hundo more you can have a know source with all the right parts. I also recommend working with a tuner for this process. I've got a brand new set of K24's available for sale and I'm in SoCal if you are interested. You can send them in for mods for less than $1,000 if I remember correctly. I'm asking $2,400 firm for my new ones...

Just go K24/20 right away, more power if you want it later and you can get the same power as the K24/18 at lower boost. But as posted before in this thread you need supporting mods and a good tune -->Protomotive .
And to fully use the K24/20 you need a built motor .

While The 24/18g upgrade is a proven turbo, there has been plenty of proof showing that Tial Alpha 28s significantly out-spools (much better around town power and better recovery between shifts) and at least matches if not out flows the 24/18g on the top end.
18g's are the best bang for the buck period!! there are some guys here on the forum running killer 60-130 times with the epl tune water inj and 18gs... oyeah one thing if you do that setup you will need a clutch
i think tony from epl suggests the spec 3+it gets a bad rap here on the board... i have driven a car with it stalled it twice but after you get used to it and install a clutch stop its very manageable and grabs like a ****

INDEED, but make sure you speak others that know so you get the right parts. Lots of ppl want to "sell" things and sometimes these things are not needed. AND SOME ARE!! Its a proven pkg and it kicks you back hard! So, for the money i really dont know what other pkg offers as much as this one, considering its basic bolt on stuff! The program is the KEY, Im a Proto guy coz I went that route, Todd K is master at his craft, undisputed champ!!,but, there are others here that I've heard incredible things of, so have fun and get those suckers in there!!!
I would get a set from a reputable dealer.... who knows who put it together... I have seen some crazy stuff on the past and saving a few hundred bucks by buying from someone thats not in the P car tuning market is like going to Honda shop trying to get your clutch done...
just my opinion...
markski
ps. stock springs actually will hold 1.15 to 1.2 bar of boost and that is usually good for pump gas files...
