KSport Coilovers
KSport Coilovers
Anybody have any experience with KSport Coilovers?

The price point certainly seems very reasonable (about $1100 from several retailers), but it seems in most cases you often get what you pay for. Application would be for an '03 that sees an occasional DE event (no serious aspirations of tracking the car hard).
The standard spring rates are listed as 336# front and 504# rear. Those rates would seem to be soft, and certainly less than Bilsteins, but I believe custom spring rates are available.
Thanks for the input,
Bill

I can't find anything now, but it seems I recall a lot of issues about them leaking VERY soon after you install them. I was also looking into these and came across some negative stuff lending itself to the "get what you pay for" stigma. Do a google search. There are some forums that have some info. maybe DSM or Subi?
Th first generations of K-sports wasent good and leaked soon after install but from what i read and heard they have fixed the leaking problem .
It really comes down to what you want to achive with the coilovers ?
Just lower the car , use it on the track , really track it ....
If your serious at the track you need coils like Moton , Ohlins or something
similiar and maybe better brakes and the list goes on .

I've sold plenty of coilovers to many Honda and Toyota owners over the last couple years, never once have I had any of them complain of any leaks or other issues. However I haave no first hand experience with any German cars, but I don't see the quality being any less for a 911 then they are for an MR2.
Where a few reports of leaking coils here in Sweden for the first gen of the K-sports but i haven heard that for a long while. They should be ok after generation 3 from what i know.

I was looking at these last year. I also read something about the travel of the shock? I think I read somewhere it seems to only travel about 2 inches? Is/was this a "Gen 1" problem too? I haven't heard much about this coilover recently, I thought it went away. I would love to hear of a 996tt using it, as it does seem like a cost effective solution at $1100 if it is in fact, FULLY adjustable like the Bilstein.
Took a look at these too before I decided on JIC. I figure that given how much I have to pay for labor (and x2 in case things dont work out), I'd rather go for a safer solution!
