Since the pumps are far away from me, another alternative is to buy a 55 gallon drum of GT100 for $284.00. I would have to keep it in my garage and pump my own gas. What do you guys think? Is this just out of hand?

Ken, not sure about the laws where you live. In Ca the distributors will not deliver a 55 gal drum to a residential address. If you have an industrial complex address it's no problem, there's usually a drum core charge.

Oak,
They don't have any issues with the delivery or pickup for that matter. I am just a little uneasy having a 55 gallon drum of race fuel in my garage. Is it worth using and going to this extent?

Ken, I would look into a safety shed designed to store flammable 55 gal drums. Not sure how your set up is, but you neighbors would be happy.

Uh Oh

Ken:

I would not feel comfortable having a 55 gallon drum of fuel in my garage. I'm a chemical engineer and own a specialty chemical company that deals with highly flamable materials (among other things) so I am used to handling flammables. I would only store the drum at work where I have thermal sensors, dykes, no smoking etc. I really would not want it around my house!

If you insisted, you could look for a flammable storage locker but please don't.

Just filled up with 100 octane from sunoco for the first time after the dyno
Just found out there is a Cam 2 112 octane station in that area (which is 43 miles from home!!)

Thanks

Thanks Ken - you'll sleep easier

Smart choice. I have a local racing fuels blending company that wanted me to do the same thing and when I said "At my home?" he finally admitted, no at your plant. Even they don't store much at there home/shop. They have a special warehouse to store it.
