brake upgrade question

Street car, no sustained hard braking as on track, but will be required for hard street/gradient mountain runs and to fill up 19s for looks. Priority is performance over looks.

p.s. i searched around but inconclusive. thanks!

Front:
Will a brembo monoblock 6pot 15" rotor brake kit from a 997 C4 bolt onto a 996tt? Found this site and the part is listed together for both cars, just want to get confirmation: http://www.automotion.com/product.as...9&dept_id=4209
- If not, is the rotor-hub or the caliper spacer the issue?
- are the brake hoses the same?

Rear:
Given the above set up for front, comments on feasibility of the following:
- stock 996tt rear caliper and a larger 2pc rotor. please comment on rotor size for best match.
- stock 996tt front caliper and larger 2pc rotor. please comment on rotor size for best match.

I'd suggest GT3 6pot + 997 TT rotors for front. I have that setup + pagid yellow pads and it's great for street / track duty.

(there used to be a brake thread around on sticky, dunno where it has gone)

yea i read that post. gt3s and gt2's have different hubs to the awd platforms. From what i can find online, the 996tt/997tt/997C4S brake parts are interchangeable ... reason for asking is cos i've located a deal on a second hand set from a 997c4s.

the gt3 and 6pot monoblock is the same caliper is it not?

right, thanks. thing is Im looking at a kit that came off a 997 c4s so another way to ask the question then is whether the 997tt and 997c4s brake parts are interchangeable?

Call Suncoast Porsche and ask for Aaron. He'll either tell you or find out the correct info. Suncoast sells a lot of brake upgrades.

hanst is infamous around these parts
I think that modified GT3 6pots and cup rotors are the best and less expensive way to go.

997 turbo rotors and 6 piston calipers should be a bolt-on job. I installed those on my '00 C2 with GT2 wheel carriers, and had to use 1,5mm shims between disc and hub. --> with turbo carriers no problems ( = no shims ).

I upgraded to the 996 GT3 6 piston fronts with 997TT rotors. Was a direct bolt up.
